About Inagua: the birdwatching capital

Inagua is the southernmost island of The Bahamas, pristine and largely uninhabited. Inagua National Park, created in 1965, shelters the world’s largest breeding colony of West Indian flamingos, along with Bahama parrots and more than 140 bird species. Climb the 1870 lighthouse in Matthew Town to see Cuba on a clear day, visit the turtles of Union Creek Reserve and see the salt works. Fly into Great Inagua Airport, or take the weekly mail boat from Nassau.
